Veneers

Harley 100

The sad fact is that some of the world's most beautiful woods are unsuitable for the large or intricate projects that would showcase them best.  By its very nature, wood is a product subject to changes in temperature, humidity, pests and even sunlight.  Unique colors and figure (especially burl) can change with the seasons and mar an otherwise beautiful work of art.

Bit by Bit has a solution!  Veneers are thin slices of wood which can be applied to a more stable foundation, providing the best of both worlds - a beautiful figure which might be unavailable (or unaffordable) in solid wood on top with a season-defying foundation below.

Bit by Bit can apply the veneer of your choice to many materials and machine them both directly.  Applying a paint mask to the veneer allows us to paint with laser-like precision on just the carved components of the project, leaving the beautiful veneer on top with the solid foundation hidden, or shown through a clear coat for contrast.
