Bottom line, if something is not to your liking - contact us right away, and we promise to do our best to make you satisfied.

Each and every item we make is unique - whether it's a piece designed especially for you or a familiar item in an exotic material of your choosing - the feel and allure is undeniable. We have no inventory of common items on the shelf to pick and ship, and there is no freight container en-route from China full of mass-produced goods, because each project is made to your specifications at the time you order.

You have our guarantee as a small owner-operated business that we will do our utmost to make things right. The fit, finish and workmanship on your item will be the best we can produce, without question.

Our Terms

Wood and other natural products are by their very nature variable from season to season. As nature intended, any wood product will have checks and voids, twists and imperfections which lend to its character. It's why we love wood! We promise to lend you our expertise regarding materials selection and to choose only the best cuts of woods and other natural products to minimize movement after delivery. Our products should remain stable in normal indoor conditions, and will weather appropriately considering local conditions and the unique characteristics of the materials chosen. Natural movement, finishes, normal wear and tear, and cases of abuse, misuse or neglect cannot be covered but we will gladly work with you to repair or replace your treasured product as a normal workshop project.

Due to the unique characteristics of wood and the methods of crafting the products, we cannot guarantee that the product you receive will appear exactly as it does on this website or any other visual representation thereof. We are confident, however, that you will be pleased with your item.

Each project is individual, and each price is established at the time of contract. Pricing is agreed upon during the initial consultation and includes materials, design and labor. Unique projects cannot be re-stocked or re-sold and payment for these projects is due upon project initiation.

Even precision machines can and do periodically fail, and irreparable damage to the workpiece may occur. Bit by Bit assumes no liability for damage to- or replacement of- customer-supplied materials.

If your item is broken or damaged during shipment, please accept our apologies, save all shipping materials and re-pack the damaged product carefully. Return the item and we will inspect it for potential repair or replacement and respond accordingly.

These terms and conditions are subject to change without prior notice, and may be deemed negotiable under certain circumstances to be determined by representatives of Bit by Bit.

Bit by Bit is a small, owner-operated business located in upstate New York. Our devotion to quality and customer satisfaction means "all hands are on deck" when it comes to making, inspecting and packing orders. With a healthy demand for our special products, there's a chance that all of us will be fully engaged when you call, but rest assured we respect- and respond to- every inquiry and we will be equally committed to your order from design to shipment.

Being a "digitally sophisticated" company, your best chance of reaching out to us is admittedly by e-mail. We monitor our customer communications constantly and you'll be surprised to find that we are apt to respond at all hours of the day or night and even on weekends.

Because many of the materials we work with are rare and exotic, and because we are in the business of making uniquely designed products, it is generally not possible to design, procure raw materials, manufacture and ship an order in one day. We don't want you to be disappointed - quality takes time - and we assure you we can get it done quickly.
